Hello...

First of all, I wanted to express my sincere thanks for all the support I have received in the creation of this store. Everything is handmade here and it is a project that is very close to my heart.

Buying an illustration or an object derived from it is not only a pleasure, but also a way to support a creator who has put all his heart and months of work into offering you a little piece of Saint-Barth by favoring craftsmanship.

I try to answer your most frequently asked questions in order to present you my approach and my work.

If you don’t find the answer here, contact me on contact@moonstbarth.com

Question What is your background?
Answer

Passionate about art since I can remember and having studied at the Beaux-Arts de Paris, illustration came to me naturally even if I still have a lot to learn and I'm always looking to improve thanks to talented illustrators.

I also own a graphic studio in which I work as a web designer, graphic designer and photographer, July On The Moon, and the creation of this illustration store seemed the logical next step in my creative and artistic journey.

Of course, the beauty of Saint-Barthélemy is a tremendous source of inspiration that lends itself perfectly to creative contemplation.

Question How were your illustrations created?
Answer

Each illustration on the site is actually the sum of an infinite number of illustrations that I have painted in watercolor and that I have then digitized and reworked to create these graphic illustrations. Concerning my sources of inspiration, always working from models, they come as much from my photographs as from images that I have licensed to reproduce.

Question How do you print your illustrations?
Answer

I make all the art prints in my studio, up to A3 format. For this, I use a Canon printer with pigment inks which guarantees an excellent longevity of the prints. Above all, after many tests, I chose to use the Canson Infinity Aquarelle Arches 310 g fine art paper which reproduces watercolor paper to perfection and which offers a very high quality print.

Beyond the A3 format, I send my orders to the Picto Paris laboratory, renowned for its professionalism throughout the world, which prints my illustrations on watercolor paper up and this, until the format 100 cm x 70 cm.

Question How do you place an order? What are the delivery times?
Answer

When you place an order on the website, the shipping time is about one week. I am the only one to manage this store and to prepare your orders and I work in parallel in my web agency.

Each print is made on demand, as soon as an order is placed. This allows me to manage the quality of printing of each of my illustrations.  Then, I take care of protecting your order by making the package. I go to the Post Office once a week with all the last orders in order to realize the expedition and the customs declarations.

Shipping times vary according to the delivery method chosen (economy or express) and the destination. I offer two shipping modes: economy mode with Colissimo and express mode with Chronopost. In economy mode, delivery times are relatively long, as parcels are always sent via France. Saint-Barthélemy is a beautiful island, but it's far from anywhere, and unfortunately postal delivery times are long. For France, it can take from 1 to 4 weeks. For the United States, allow 4 to 8 weeks*. Chronopost Express usually takes a few days, but can take up to 2 weeks.

Concerning the orders coming from the Picto laboratory, it is always fast but depending on the country, I invite you to look at their general conditions of sale.

*Delivery times may be longer during the holiday season.
Question How does a multiple order with illustrations from your studio and large format illustrations from Picto work?
Answer

If you want different sizes for your illustrations, it is possible to order them via the site. If, for example, you choose two illustrations in A3 format and one illustration in 70 x 50 cm format, you are in the case of a multiple order.

The A3+ format is a format for which I do not yet have a secure envelope for international shipping, this format is only available with a hand delivery on Saint-Barthélemy. If you choose this format, this option will appear to remind you that if you send other formats, this one will not be attached to the shipment but will be picked up on Saint-Barth.

Concerning the illustrations printed in my workshop, they will be treated like all the others and sent by my care, the carriage costs being calculated with the order, according to the weight of this last. As for the prints coming from Picto, I will place your order myself and that's why a flat fee is applied to your cart to allow me to cover the shipping costs coming from France for this second shipment.

Question How do I keep my prints?
Answer

I take special care in making these prints and in sending them. They are delicate and easy to damage. It is recommended to frame them and to avoid putting your fingers on them to preserve the print in optimal conditions. To ensure the longevity of your print, it is recommended to avoid hanging it above a heat source, in direct sunlight or in a humid environment as this would degrade the quality of the print.

Question How do you package and ship the products?
Answer

Original prints are inserted with a cardboard backing into a clear cellophane envelope and shipped in a cardboard envelope.

Clothing is wrapped in a clear cellophane envelope and shipped either in a tear-proof plastic mailing envelope, or, if accompanying a print, in a cardboard envelope.

All orders are prepared and shipped by myself once a week.

As a reminder, I am located in Saint-Barthélemy, a small island in the French West Indies which has all the necessary postal infrastructures but which, due to its remoteness, has rather long postal delays. Your package will arrive, depending on the destination and the choice of your carrier, between 1 and 4 weeks for France. For the United States, allow 4 to 8 weeks*.

Please note that an error on the address can increase the delivery time.

Please check the address to which you wish to be delivered to avoid any problems.

*Delivery times may be longer during the holiday season.

*Orders with a shipping address outside of St. Barts may be subject to import taxes. Some customs duties or additional taxes are the responsibility of the customer and as such will need to be paid before your order is delivered to you.

Question What is the origin and quality of the t-shirts?
Answer

The tee-shirts I use for my prints are made of 100% organic combed cotton with continuous warp yarn of 140 g / m2.

The organic cotton of this t-shirt is certified OCS (Organic Content Standard). The OCS (Organic Content Standard) provides an independent certification for the manufacture of textiles from organic raw materials. The objective of this standard is to guarantee the traceability and integrity of the raw materials throughout the manufacturing process. It guarantees the purity of the organic cotton in the textile you buy.

This tee shirt is also 100% vegan, labeled by PETA.

Washing advice : This tee-shirt should be washable at 40°. Nevertheless, because of the process used for my prints on fabric, I strongly advise hand washing so that the inks keep all their beauty.

Question Why are the prices exclusive of tax? Are there any extra charges for delivery?
Answer

Saint-Barthélemy is a French free port where VAT does not apply. Consequently, the prices indicated on this site are prices excluding taxes. Orders whose delivery address is outside Saint-Barthélemy may therefore be subject to import taxes. Some customs duties or additional taxes are the responsibility of the customer and as such will need to be paid before your order is delivered to you.

Question What payment methods do you accept?
Answer

The following payment methods are accepted:

- By credit card: Payments are made online through the secure payment platform Paypal. It is not mandatory to have a Paypal account to order. When you validate your cart ("checkout") you are redirected to the Paypal page, you can then select the credit card payment method and fill in the usual fields concerning your card.

- By Paypal : You must have a Paypal account.

Question Is there any insurance covering the shipment?
Answer

Yes, it appears when you go to your cart. It is mentioned in a fixed price and costs 5 € and allows me to add an insurance during my shipment to the Post Office by choosing the highest levels of guarantee. Thus, in case of loss, theft or damage, your shipment is covered up to what this insurance covers.

Question What is your return and refund policy?
Answer

Orders with unused and unopened items can be returned within 14 days of receipt. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. Stained or damaged items will not be refunded. Once I have received the item(s) you can be refunded (shipping costs are not refundable). Used, opened and sale items cannot be returned.

Question Is it possible to make a custom order?
Answer

Yes, of course. To do so, send me a short email describing your project and I will answer you as soon as possible. In the same way, if you have noticed an illustration which is not in the store and which interests you, do not hesitate to contact me.
